Victoria Dock Primary School opened in January 1999 by the Rt. Hon. John Prescott MP. The school was greatly needed for the reasonably new Victoria Dock Village but finance was an issue at the time.
With the innovation of Paul Sewell (left) and the will of the then Labour government, the school was made possible and became the United Kingdom’s first PFI school, opening its doors for 60 children.
Such was its popularity that a further two extensions followed in 2001 and 2003, to complete this 240 place primary school.
The building is owned and maintained to the highest standard by the Sewell Group and the partnership, with Dr. Paul Sewell OBE, Sewell FM and the parent company Sewell Group, promotes mutual learning and an excellent learning environment where the child is at the heart of the process.
