On the 16th July 2012, the hard working buddies enjoyed a trip out to Hollywood Bowl as a reward for helping out younger pupils of the school. The buddies got separated into groups of four led by a member of staff. This included Mr Kite, Mr Brown, Mrs Galloway and Mr Lawson which left one team without a team leader (up steps Sam Ellwood). The teachers competed against the children; however the scores didn’t affect the excitement of the day!
After the first game was completed, the pupils had a chance to spend their money on sweets treats, such as Pringles, Cadburys chocolate and 20p handful of sweets. Staff members earned a well-deserved coffee.
As the second games started, you could see the five lanes of Victoria Dock pupils having fun with their friends lifting the heavy balls and trying to scores some points (with a little bit of help from the lane guard).
The competition was fierce between Mr Kite and Mr Brown as they both drew the first game on 142 points each but then Mr Kite ran away with the second game scoring a massive 161 points.
All around the slippery lanes were arcade games which looked incredible with all the flashing lights and noise coming from them.
Although most of the teachers won the games, the children thoroughly enjoyed the morning out and many have decided to carry on with their role of School Buddy into Year 6, as they enjoyed the experience so much throughout the year.
